Clarity Enhancing Bifocal Sunglasses

Does space-age technology matter when it comes to sunglasses? These are The Clarity Enhancing Bifocal Sunglasses, based on glasses created by NASA, that protect your eyes while simultaneously aiding their vision.

Clarity Enhancing Bifocal SunglassesUsing the technology NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory developed, these bifocal sunglasses filter the blue and violet light rays that can impair vision, yet they allow the green, yellow, orange, and red light rays that enhance sight to reach your retinas, allowing objects to appear more distinct, and diminishing distortion. While traditional sunglasses are darkening your vision, these enhance vividness whilst blocking 100% of harmful UV rays. When not protecting your eyes, they come with both a soft pouch and hard case for storing, so you can keep them safe as well.

You choose the bifocal diopters you prefer — 1.5, 2.0, or 2.5 — and with stainless nickel-silver gunmetal frames and adjustable non-slip nose pads, they’ll look and feel as great as they perform. So don’t darken your vision with regular sunglasses, sharpen it. With The Clarity Enhancing Bifocal Sunglasses from Hammacher Schlemmer.

Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner

This is The Best Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner, rated such by The Hammacher Schlemmer Institute because it restored the original luster of jewelry better than any other model tested.

Ultrasonic Jewelry CleanerTo test all models, jewelry was coated with a mixture of hair gel, hand lotion, and dirt, then placed in a microwave oven to solidify. Using a scale accurate to .0001 grams, and independent laboratory weighed each item before and after one cycle in each cleaner. The Best Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner was found to have removed 99.8% of the baked-on mess, superior to all other models.

The Best Model uses 42,000 Hz of sound waves and water from it’s 18-ounce reservoir to reach deep into crevices of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and watchbands to effectively remove debris from even the most hard-to-reach parts of the jewelry. And that’s without adding soap, which can be used if desired. The crystal clear LED screen has a digital timer for ease of use, with a simple-to-follow instruction manual.

Jewelry is an expensive and precious commodity. Keep it looking brand new with The Best Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner from Hammacher Schlemmer.

Best Commuter Cup

This is The Best Commuter Cup, so deemed by The Hammacher Schlemmer Institute because it is easy to drink from, and does not leak, even if turned upside down.

Best Commuter CupThe lid on The Best Commuter Cup stays tightly closed until you’re ready for your beverage; then with the touch of a button, it springs open and flips out of your way as you drink. Whether you transport The Cup in a bag or briefcase, or even if you lose track of it and it rolls around the floor of your car, the safety lock prevents spilling. Ideal for use by children when taking long trips.

Best Commuter Cup ClosedDual walls of stainless steel and vacuum insulation provide The Best Commuter Cup with superior temperature retention. In testing, ice cubes remained frozen for 36 hours, while other models allowed ice to melt in six hours. And hot liquids lost only 18 degrees after two hours in The Cup, while hot beverages in other cups tested lost up to 71 degrees.

Spill-proof when out of your hand, and easy to use when you’re thirsty. That’s The Best Commuter Cup from Hammacher Schlemmer.

Digital Storage vs Physical

The ways we store our media —  photos, music, books, and more — have changed drastically in the digital age. As computer hard drives continue to grow in size and affordability, there has been a push by consumers to convert tangible media vehicles into bits, bytes, and files. And while it isn’t difficult to see the benefits of digital storage, does anyone else miss the days of showing off our collections?

Space, of course, will always be the bi

ggest advantage our iPods and other MP3 devices offer for storing music. Gone are the needs to have most of our living room wall space dedicated to racks loaded with compact discs. But those CD libraries were fun, weren’t they? Carting around that Motown Compilation Box Set was never convenient, but where are the liner notes to tell you who played bass on Midnight Train to Georgia? Not on your Shuffle, that’s for sure.

And what about those dusty bookshelves loaded with classics from Moby Dick to Harry Potter? Of course, having 1,000 titles on your Kindle is much more convenient, especially on moving day, but those 6-foot bookcases were like a neon sign to visitors, warning them that we were exceptionally well-read. What’s that, you want to borrow War and Peace? Sure, I’ve read it six times already, practically have it memorized. Just make sure you remember where you got it. What are we left to do now, let the in-laws borrow our e-readers? Not likely!

If security is your main argument for digital storage, keep in mind that one false key stroke, or a single mistakenly-downloaded virus, can wipe out a computer’s memory in an instant. Leaving us to hit the neighborhood flea markets and yard sales, looking for all those albums, hardcovers, and cassette tapes we sold off when we stepped into the 21st Century. Of course, we could always head to the internet and plunk down 99 cents apiece for the opportunity to store our beloved tunes and stories on our computer. Again.
