Press Release: Introducing Lifelike Prelit Trees

New York, NY, October 14, 2012  – Continuing its 164-year tradition of offering the Best, the Only and the Unexpected, Hammacher Schlemmer has expanded its exclusive line of prelit Christmas trees. The lush trees are meticulous reproductions of live evergreens and are strung with the best lights available.

“They’re so realistic that your guests may be surprised your tree wasn’t freshly cut,” said Fred Berns, Hammacher Schlemmer’s general manager. “You’ll enjoy all the beauty of a live tree without worrying about fallen needles or watering.”

Only available from Hammacher Schlemmer, America’s longest running catalog, the trees painstakingly replicate the fullness, natural growth patterns and distinctive silhouettes of live conifers. Compared to typical trees, they have 40% more branch tips, uniquely crafted from three-dimensional injection-molded plastic. The inner branches and trunk are lined with broad fibers to further bolster the trees’ fullness.

The prestrung LEDs or incandescent lights mean no struggling with tangled wires. Patented technology ensures the warm glow will shine on, even if one bulb breaks or burns out, backed by the Hammacher Schlemmer Lifetime Guarantee of Complete Satisfaction.

Eighty-one tree styles are available, including the traditional Fraser, Noble, and Douglas Firs. New this season are slim and full Scots Pines, ranging in height from 4.5’ to 8.5’, modeled on a live Pinus sylvestris. Hammacher Schlemmer also now offers hand-flocked spruces, with thick outer boughs and thin inner branches that simulate the appearance of a recent fluffy snowfall.

Shoppers can view the complete Christmas tree selection online and find their perfect tree by sorting the results by branch and bulb type, tree height and width, and price.
